IMSF By-Laws
1.
APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP
a.
All applications for membership shall be forwarded to the
Chairperson through an existing member who shall certify as to the merit
of the application to the Forum.
b.
The Executive shall, on the recommendation of the member through
who the application was made, grant provisional membership to the
applicant.
c.
All applications, whether granted provisional membership or not,
shall be determined at the next meeting of the Forum.
2.
MEMBERSHIP DUES
Membership dues related to a
calendar year. Payment of dues shall be made upon invoice and are
payable by all members within three months of receipt of invoice. Any
variation of membership dues shall be determined at a General or Special
Meeting of the Forum.
3.
REPRESENTATION AT MEETINGS
Each member organization may
nominate two representatives to attend meetings of the Forum. Where both
representatives attend, only one may exercise a vote.
4.
MANAGEMENT OF THE FORUM
a. Management
of the Forum is vested in the Executive.
b. Duties
and obligations of the Executive shall include the following:
i. to
establish goals for the Forum.
ii. to
implement activities furthering the objectives of the Forum.
iii. to represent and make representations on behalf of the Forum, to governments, industry, and the
pubic.
iv. to process
applications for membership.
v. to keep
members informed of the activities of the Forum.
vi. to publish
material furthering the objectives of the Forum.
vii. to arrange
meetings in accordance with the Constitution of the Forum and the direction of the members.
viii. to account for all funds received and expanded on behalf of the Forum.
ix. to maintain records of all meetings of the Forum and the Executive and correspondence to or from the Chairperson.
5.
OBLIGATIONS MEMBERS
It is the obligation of every
member to further the objectives of the Forum by:
a. Contributing to the
goals of the organization
b.
Participating in working groups or other sub-groups of the Forum
established by the Executive to investigate, report on, or undertake any
other activity consistent with the objectives of the organization.
6.
ADDRESS
All correspondence to the IMSF
shall be addressed to the Chairperson.
7.
MEMBERS’ REPRESENTATIVES
Members / organizations
shall advise the Chairperson of any changes in their representatives.
8.
AUDIT
The
finances of the Forum shall be audited each calendar year by an
independent, certified auditor. The audit report shall be presented to
the general meeting of the Forum.
